• Tenure-track assistant professorship, University of Washington

US IN THE WORLD
 
The Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, at the University of Washington, Seattle, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the field of US in the World to begin on September 16, 2014, contingent on budgetary approval. Applicants should be able to present evidence of social science-related scholarship and teaching related to any aspect of US foreign policy and/or US engagement politically, economically, socially, or culturally with one or more regions of the world.
 
The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in his or her area of specialization, as well as other comparative and international studies classes, teaching four courses per academic year over three quarters. A PhD or equivalent by date of appointment is strongly preferred. This position is a full-time, nine-month appointment. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.  Candidates with area or international studies strengths, and a PhD in History, Political Science or other social science discipline, are especially urged to apply.  Experience teaching in an online environment will be an asset.
